punktWhat are the principles of co-operation with Żabka Polska S.A.?

Żabka stores are managed based on a co-operation agreement concluded individually between the agent (the franchisee) and the company. Pursuant to the agreement, the agent manages a turnkey, stocked-up convenience store. Each store is supplied from our distribution system and provided with our merchandising support. Managers of Żabka stores receive comprehensive training in the theory and practice of modern store management. The agent starting his business activity is therefore acquainted with all principles of the company philosophy. He is also provided with ongoing counsel, guidance and assistance by the local macro-regional manager.

punktWho may become our agent (franchisee)?

A person willing to start his or her business activity, who successfully undergoes the recruitment and training processes is fit to become our agent (a franchisee). A successful result of recruitment depends on the candidate’s individual aptitude, a flair for business, drive, enthusiasm and interpersonal skills.

punktWhat cost does an agent pay to launch a Żabka store?

Żabka Polska S.A. covers all costs of launching a Żabka store, from rental to providing full inventory and supplies. Every agent takes over a turnkey, stocked-up store with signage recognised all over Poland.

punktWhat should I include in my application?

Your application should include:

1. Your resume (CV) containing:

  • relevant information on your education and work experience
  • contact data (name and surname, address, phone)
  • information on your additional skills, e.g. languages or driving licenses


The content of your CV should not exceed 1 page.

2. A cover letter specifying why you are applying for the post of an agent with reference to your experience and aptitudes.

punktWhere do the training sessions take place?

Our trainings are organised in a modern training centre in Kiekrz near Poznań within a curriculum tailored to the needs of prospective Żabka agents. Classes are conducted in an interactive manner employing varied teaching methods and IT tools.

punktWhat are subject areas of the training?

Every student of Akademia Żabki (Żabka Academy, a training programme for prospective franchisees) acquires his basic trade and management skills in line wih the requirements of Żabka franchising scheme. The training aims at providing the agent with essential information on the functioning of the whole network and the performance of an individual store. The training curriculum consists of complementary aspects of modern store management, from finance to the building of a sales team. In the course of the training the candidates also receive a full set of certificates required under the Polish and EU law to conduct a business activity in the form of a trading unit (Health and Safety, HACCP, First Aid, Sanepid).

punktHow long does the training take?

The training programme is free and consists of a number of stages.

The agents acquire theoretical knowledge on the functioning of Żabka stores during a 15-day course organised in the training centre in Kiekrz. The courses are continued throughout weekends.

Theoretical background is put into practice during an internship in a selected store where the prospective agent is prepared for an independent management of a Żabka store under the supervision of the Trainer-agent.

punktCan the premises for a Żabka store be owned by the agent?

According to our principles, it is Żabka Polska S.A. that designates the premises where the agent runs his business.  The agent cannot be the owner of the premises where he conducts his activity. However, we are open to your suggestions related to the location of the store of your preference. If you propose a location, we make decisions in consultation with the Expansion Department where the local partner examines compatibility of your proposed premises with our standards.

punktWho recruits the shop staff?

Agents of Żabka Polska S.A. are individual entrepreneurs and they recruit the shop staff (assistants / cashiers) by themselves. Żabka Polska S.A. provides its agents with full competences to employ and manage their store staff.

punktHow can I become a Freshmarket agent?

Any agent of a Żabka store constantly improving his managerial skills, with a strong drive for excellence and ambition to enrich their professional experience can be promoted to the position of a Freshmarket agent.

punktWhy is the new store format (Freshmarket) based on co-operation with Żabka agents?

Freshmarket stores vary in size: they are bigger and offer a wider range of products, presenting the agent with the opportunity of an increased turnover and a more dynamic business development. The new format store requires a substantial experience in trade and the ability to manage a bigger shop staff than in Żabka stores. We would like our Freshmarket agents to be familiar with the company know-how to efficiently launch the new format. Our trustworthy agents also have an asset of being familiar with corporate and IT solutions already implemented in Żabka stores.
